What if I participated but my biopsy result was negative?

Your information is still very important to the study. Negative biopsy results help us build a more complete understanding of prostate cancer care in Ireland, and allow us to compare differences between individuals with and without a diagnosis of prostate cancer.

What if I don’t want to complete questionnaires?

Taking part in IPCOR is always your choice. You can decide whether or not to complete questionnaires at any stage of the study, and your care will not be affected. You can simply not respond to the PROMs questionnaires we send you but please note that if you choose to not respond, we may call you to follow up to confirm you have received the questionnaire. If you do not want to be contacted at all please get in touch with us so we can update your preferences.

What if I said no to completing questionnaires initially, but now I have changed my mind and want to do them?

In that case, please get in touch with us and we will update your preferences and send you out a questionnaire.

Will I be contacted again?

You will be contacted if you have agreed to fill PROMs questionnaires. These will be sent after recruitment, and if you have a diagnosis, 6 and 12 months following your treatment and then annually. You may also be contacted for future opportunities if you agree to this in the consent form.

If you have consented to participate in the registry but have not consented to complete questionnaires or receive future contact from the research team, you do not need to take any further action. We will collect and use your registry data in accordance with the consent you have provided, but we will not contact you about questionnaires, study updates, or future research opportunities.
