Data Access

Pleaser refer to the IPCOR Data Access Information Leaflet for detailed information about accessing IPCOR data. This document applies to all external researchers seeking access to data from IPCOR project at UCD, including both the IPCOR 1.0 and IPCOR 2.0 dataset.

The detailed data dictionaries listing all available variables in IPCOR datasets are available on our website at: IPCOR 1 Data Dictionary and IPCOR 2 Data Dictionary

Researchers and organisations interested in IPCOR data for clinical or translational research and clinical trials must submit a request outlining their project and requirements at: IPCOR Data Access Request Form

IPCOR 1.0 (2015-2019)

The IPCOR 1.0 dataset is pseudonymised and is subject to a conditional consent declaration from the Health Research Consent Declaration Committee (HRCDC). The HRCDC consent declaration only applies to IPCOR team members and does not apply to external researchers. This data access policy negates the need for external researchers to apply for their own HRCDC consent declaration to access IPCOR data. The policy also ensures that proposed analyses are pre-registered, which mitigates the chance of “p-value hacking or fishing”, making the research process transparent and reproducible. It also increases data security as the data never leaves UCD.

IPCOR 2.0 (2025 onwards)

Current IPCOR data is actively being collected since March 2025. Explicit consent is taken from participants and their data is abstracted into a digital registry software under the sole control of IPCOR at UCD. The consent obtained from patients includes sharing of data and biosamples with external companies and researchers for improving diagnosis, treatment and quality of life of men suffering from prostate cancer as well as approaching them for future purposes. The IPCOR registry and biorepository is governed by a Data Oversights & Access Committee (DOAC) and Steering Committee, who must approve all data access requests.
